Buttercup Born: March 2002 Brought home: August 2002 Type: Lutino budgie Sex: Female Background: Buttercup is the newest little budgie to our family. She is very special because she is a lutino and has little red eyes. (They actually look kind of pink, which makes her even cuter.) However, she also isn’t very tame, she is very shy and frightened of everyone and everything, whenever Lori holds her she burrows her little head into Lori’s hands. When we first got her Jackie and Lucca didn’t like her very well, and used to pick on her, but now they all get along, and Buttercup sticks up for herself against all the other birds. Fun facts: Since Buttercup rarely comes out of the cage, she doesn’t do all that much. She likes eating seed, and especially honey sticks, and lettuce occasionally. She likes to play in the nestbox inside the cage and really loves playing with her toys and swings. Every now and then she tries to fly and ends up making a little squeak when she falls to the ground, which is really cute. Buttercup is very sweet and gentle and we love her just the way she is.
